Maria Isabel Rodriguez is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than two decades of nursing experience and a strong background in primary care, chronic disease management, patient education, and interdisciplinary care. She earned both her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at El Paso and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Maria spent more than 20 years as a registered nurse caring for patients across a wide range of clinical settings. Her experience includes telemetry, pediatrics, cardiac rehabilitation, emergency care, psychiatric care, and nursing education, as well as leadership roles as a charge nurse and preceptor. This extensive bedside experience provides her with a broad clinical perspective and a deep understanding of the needs of patients and their families.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Maria has experience in both primary care and sleep medicine, with an emphasis on comprehensive patient assessment, development of individualized treatment plans, chronic disease management, interpretation of diagnostic testing, medication management, preventive care, and patient education. She has also been actively involved in community outreach and health education throughout the El Paso community.

At Rio Grande Urology and Rio Grande Cancer Specialists, Maria brings this experience to the care of patients with prostate cancer, including the coordination and management of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). She works collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to monitor treatment, address therapy-related concerns, educate patients and their families, and help maintain continuity of care throughout the patient's cancer journey.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Maria is committed to providing culturally sensitive, accessible care to the diverse communities of El Paso and the surrounding region. She places particular emphasis on communication and patient education, helping patients understand their diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing health needs so they can take an active role in their care.
